Or at least we should be able to talk to them/sneak around them/evade them
Always amazed by these PC deals.
Heh, it might feel a bit slow and even kinda relaxing after Bloodborne.
Not in a bad way. Drangleic is kinda serene and haunting rather than oppressive, it's a place that's more about quietly dying beauty rather than terror.
Pretty sure it's rigged like one of those escape the room games though, you might get stuck in there!
"Pillars of Eternity took everyone by surprise when it released from out of nowhere to widespread critical acclaim"
No it didn't. It was a huge profile KS with regular updates, media blasts and well-publicised launch. Crave need to check their emails, I guess.
@Articuno76: Could be a plan. Dark Souls will seem much less daunting when you've got the skills - and I speak from experience, I hated DS for the few hours I played it. Loved everything about it on paper, but the gameplay felt punitive.
After DS2 I came to appreciate its 8-bit style design. Just my 2c, but yeah, you might want to look out for a decent/pre-owned price for DS2:SotFS and see if it gets you into the franchise proper.
Yup, sound advice. Just announce it, Squeenix.
Dark Souls 2 does a more thorough job of easing you in IMO, partly to attract a wider audience, but mainly because DS had less of a challenge curve and more of a challenge skyscraper. DS2 has a lower skill floor, and SotFS lowers it even further while beefing up later levels.
Haha, DS2 would have been a much gentler start. You might even find it a bit easy after Bloodborne.
Don't know why you're getting so many disagrees, seeing how you're right. Sony have future proofed their business and, sooner or later, the console market is going to completely collapse. It's already happening in Japan, and the AAA price gouging/pre order madness/broken games will eventually cause it to happen here. At which point Sony can seamlessly make the jump to any device with a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection.
It ain't the near future, but it will h...
What? You've completely mixed up two separate things. Streaming games from remote servers is a service like Netflix. Microsoft wanted to sell discs with DRM. Those are literally different distribution methods and business models.
Netflix isn't drm. Neither is psnow.
Great article, except for the fact that it seems to miss a fairly basic point. The "criticisms" the author references are in fact just second opinions from sites who ran massively positive reviews, warning more casual/relaxed/impatient gamers that Bloodborne might not be for them. They're not criticisms at all, rather they're just a different perspective.
But a great read anyway, and thoroughly agreed.
Digital Rental Method?
The ability to pay a subscription/cherry pick and stream games ain't DRM, surely? It's more like Netflix.
Agreed, especially here in the UK/Europe. It's a mess.
Yup, savvy purchase on Sony's part. That's all in the article (and in the blurb above, even).
Lol, that is the combat tutorial. You're pretty much suppose to lose that fight, man. :)
Then you can get back in there and kick its furry hide.
Yup, it's a beast.
Yup. Still don't feel ripped off though, the value for money is awesome.
I bought it with a PS4 for about £285 in a Gamestop deal, but if I hadn't, I'd be on this like a rocket.
Looks great. Could be bigger than Skylanders and Disney combined if LEGO handles this right! Actual toys, not just figures.
